I would be looking for the last coach produced, rather than the first.
Those early coaches were full of warts. The 77 and 78 coaches are refined
compared to them.

What number was the last GMC?

Mine left the GMC factory as a transmode in March 1968. It was delivered to
a HONDA CAR dealership from Jimmy Industries with 9 miles on the clock in
late May. Not where I can see the exact dates, but I am sure that there
were others later than mine.

I assume that you meant March 1978. My 1978 Palm Beach TZE ends in 100258.
My original upholstery instead of the green plaid decor is white corduroy
material throughout which might mean that it was "thrown in" towards the
end of 1978 production as GMC was out of the usual green plaid material.?
