Has anyone ever slowed an oil leak with additives? Has anyone changed
the rear main seal without removing the 455? Ed Osburn suspects that
there is a leak at the rear main seal. The rebuilder may not have used
the "rope seal". Any other leak possibilities in that area? Hopeful in

I am using Valvoline 10-30. There is oil all over the back end of the
engine. Ed Osburn pressure washed the area and then told me he thought
it was the rear main seal.

Do you have the maintenance manuals from Cinnebar? If it is the main seal
you don't have to take the engine out to fix it according to what I was
reading in the book. I hear there are two different types of material for
the seal also. Probably should check with one of the pro's. I guess there
is always something good about it, it did not catch fire. I know what you
are feeling right now. Chuck
