After the fiasco with the DeRale outboard cooler, and the input from people who run with no oil cooler at all, I've ordered a set of J.L.s lines since
the originals are long gone and I would of done the replacement even if they weren't. The cooler has been open since the radiator was recored several
months ago, so I took my geewhiz cheap Banggood inspection camera and had a look in both holes. Alls I could see was solder where the flues come into
the headers and the flues themselves, all of which looks clean. Before hookup though, I'll flush it in reverse with hot water through a cloth filter
and inspect for any particles which might be in the flues. Then some denatured alcohol to remove all the water. Then hook it up and go. I think I'm
going to do the next trip - to Augusta and back - bobtailed and with the cooler to see what difference towing makes to oil temp, performance, and fuel
burn.

An Oil cooler defiantly makes a difference in the western mountains . Also a fan is a good investment on air cooled coolers out here.

Roy, given my experience with fan driven air coolers, I won't be using any anytime soon on the coach. One killed the transmission from a leaky
installation I didn't catch, and blind luck kept the other from destroying the engine. Like the old maid said on Saturday night, "I'll dance with the
one what brung me'.

Update -
\
Newbraided hoses got herethis morning. Thanks J.R.! I fingered them on and rain hot water through the cooler backwards into a funnel with A coffee
filter in it and nothing untoward showed up, So I ran a pint of Mean Green into it and flushed it for a few minutes, again with hot water. let it
drain, and a quart of ATF to clear out any water that's left. Compressed air, and the hook the new lines up and remove the (several feet) of hoses
that went to the DeRale cooler and oil temp sender. Temp will now have to rely on the cooler lines to measure... I'm not putting two adapters and
thus four connections back in the pressure lines. Onward to Augusta Friday to test.
