I seem to recall the last time this thread was unravelled mothballs were
considered to be an effective, low cost method.

Since we don't A/ Winterize, or B/ Have mice, in SE Florida, I have no
experience in this area!

ED and all

I've used Downy fabric softner sheets for the last
two years.
Dosen't smell to bad in the spring like mothballs do.
I use a whole box and put a sheet in every drawer,
cabinet and cavity in the RV then I take whats left
and spread on the floor.
Seems to work for me.

Seems to me I heard awhile back about a Camphor Bar used to repel mice etc.
But don't know if it works or not .

As it was previously written by Duane Simmons to Frank Folkmann, answering
the question now posed by Ed Lubo:

|
|> WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO KEEP OUT THE MICE? WE'RE LISTENING.

Frank Folkmann "Rodent Control"
What you should be looking for is "Camphor Gum Blocks". Available at
Pharmacy dept of Drug Stores. They really work !!! We do not have the
problem since we carry two cats, otherwise I would not be without them. Two
of my wife's uncles (fellow GMCers) who live in a rural area have
successfully been using them for years w/o rodent problems. Cost about $18
per box of 16. They will last about a year + if you leave them in their
wrapper & cut a slit in the side. Moisture will dissolve the Blocks. Put
one in the Onan Compartment, one in the Engine compartment & two in the
living area. Remove from Engine & Onan compartment Before driving. The are
made in Texarkana Arkansas by Humco Company. Nation wide available, even at
Costco by special order.

Happy GMCing
