Hey Arch, et al,
I just got back from the Detroit Boat Show. Since I hadn't checked the
Lotto numbers yet, we thought we would check out the 1999 Maxum 45
footer they had on display, price $475,000 plus change.
As we admired the elegant galley, a familiar shape caught my eye. Yes ,
it was a built-in, surface mounted, triangular plastic cannistered
Nu-Tone blender, EXCACTLY like the one in my 78 Royale. Excactly like
the one that you were told they don't make anymore.
Evidently, either Maxum Yachts bought out the remaining world wide
supply of blenders, or perhaps Nu-tone decided they could peddle a few
more of these units to the newly rich and famous.
BTW, the comely young lady showing this floating condo had no clue at
all about availability of the Nu-Tone power head, but I would be
confident in ragging on the company about buying a new one if that is
your wish.
