Thanks for your comments. I believe they are very well founded and consistent
with what I have learned during my almost 5 years ownership of a '78 Royale.
I agree that many of the disappointments people experience with the GMC Mh are
a result of their using it in ways not intended by GM engineers. As an
engineer myself, I attempted at the outset of my ownership to determine the
design limits of the vehicle and stay well within them. Thus far, that and
detailed preventive maintenance has resulted flawless, troublefree
performance.
I just wanted to "test the waters" to see if I had missed something on the
control arms.
