After picking up my GMC project after 1-plus years I am reassembling the
headliner and now have come to the front plastic cap. My 1978 Royale has
the machined thread inserts, several of which were missing or riveted
during a previous r&r which I have repaired. My question is in regard to
the center front four mounting holes. They seem never to have had the
inserts (its been a while and I have forgotten).

- The two inner holes appear to be for the mirror mount and are blind
holes. What are the proper screws or fasteners for these?
- The next two on either side of the mirror mounts should have what for
fastening the plastic cap?

Thank you,

Charlie

If you told us where you lived and the year of your GMC, maybe someone
could stop by and help you out!

Life is too short to hold a grudge; slash some tires and call it even !

Charlie,
On our '78 Royale, the inner front cap was held up by the windshields with a total of ten riv-nuts, five on a side, that were attached to the ceiling
sub-structure. The cap had ten machine thread bolts / screws that went into the riv-nuts.

Charlie,

I am glad you found your way here.

Welcome to the group, family, cult, asylum....

I can't help you with the headliner problem, but I would like to invite you to fill in a "sigfile". This will help us to be more help to you.

It looks like you are working the group as a forum. It works both this was and as a mailing list. Both get to see some different things in the post
and this will fix a lot of that. To do this go up and click on . When you have the new pick bar, click on . Scroll
down to Preferences a look for the Sigfile box. Fill in your name (at least we already know you are Charles - I like real names), Some coach
specifics (you did say it is a '78 Royale) but you might add major mods, if any. And a geographic reference. This is a help so we both know what
climate you are in and if there is a local in striking range, you might get help.

About that help, this is a group of supportive and helping people that have amazing knowledge and experience and all want nothing more than to see you
get to enjoy your coach and the freedom it brings as we all know. The other community I know of like this is the watermen of my world and for that
reason, I try to welcome all that arrive here much as any new owner or vessel is welcomed there. So,

May the Good Lord bless this coach and all those that set forth within her.

Welcome Charlie,

Matt
