Hello, we recently sold our 40 foot diesel RV and now kind of looking for something smaller. Have long been a fan of the GMC Motorhome. Is there an annual meeting of owners some place, specifically in the Texas area? Would like to attend. Thanks for letting us join. Charles & Linda.

GMC Motorhome International Club (GMCMI) is holding a rally in Texas next April directly in the path of the eclipse of the sun. You can get a day pass as a non-member. There are seminars on various aspects of owning a GMC, plus there is an open-house one day where members invite others to look through their coach.

Thank you, to all, have marked our calendars. not too far from Whitney, TX.
We are in the center of the best viewing area for the Eclipse in 2024 if anyone is out this way.
Have a Blessed Thanksgiving.

You can get with the GMC CLASSICS club and join us in Blanco State Park in January.

Our rally after that will be with GMCMI at Mineola.

Charles and Linda,
I hope you are an effective technician. If you are not, you will have to find one. The newest of our coaches is 45 years old and they require maintenance as you would have expected if you bought a vehicle at that time.
The best part of being a GMC owner is the community it connects you to. So, before you do much else, go to the GMCMI website and grab a copy of the "Black's" aka GMC assist list. Make contact with a few people.
The best way to get a good GMC is to locate the websites for all 16 local chapters and keep a close watch. Sometimes they are available but do not come up for sale that soon. The membership is aging and many have coaches for which they would like to find a good home. Remember when you speak to these people you will be discussing a family member.
When you get real close, build a sigfile like most of us have so we know what is happening.
Best of luck

Matt:

Appreciate the good advice.
We had a similar experience with our 25 year old diesel, lots I could do, but the heavy lifting was left to the professionals and there were lots of heavy parts on that critter. We enjoyed our 4 years of ownership.

Thanks
