New Black List

Folks,
I have tried to do some changes so there are fewer pages to the Black List.
Fortunately, the list has grown that much.

When printing, I have found that by printing the book style, i.e., front and
back, you use half the paper. Just a helpful hint, I hope.

You will be notified when they are posted to the net as usual. Thanks are
in order to Gene Fisher and Henry Davis for their dedication on keeping the
Black List available on their sites.

Tom,
I have used this format because the list owners requested the file extension
that I use. I think, with all the different systems out there, it is easier
for one to set up their own printer to do the front/back printing on their
own. I still am toying with the idea of a spreadsheet format for a short
list that includes only pertinent data. Kind of a short sheet. Have
experimented somewhat on a spreadsheet, but have not reached a conclusion
on it yet.

Thanks for your ideas. Always helpful to hear ideas.

Ooops! Forgot my main thing. My eyes aren't what they used to be so I need
large writing.{:>) Think most of us do also. By condensing it to newspaper
format, I would have to reduce the print size.

Don't forget that I post the list in Microsoft Word format in addition to
html. I'm going to add RTF as well. This means that you can download the
list and print it however you want. Word has the option of printing the
list 2-up ( 2 pages per side of paper) and 4-up. Select PRINT from the
"file" menu. Next select properties from the first printer dialog box.
Select the 2 or 4 up option. If you have a printer that will print double
sided, select the "more options" button. This takes you to a menu that will
allow you to select which edge to flip the paper on (short or long side).

Henry - I hope that you plan to keep the PDF (Adobe Acrobat) format
as I like to download that from your site.

By the way, I see that you still have the Sandy Davis archives on
your site but they seem to only go through early 99. Did Sandy stop
compiling them about that time?

The PDF will stay - it's the only really portable document form that I know
about.

I talked to Sandy at the Albuquerque rally. She had just gotten a job that
was taking al of her time. I do have some compilations form another GMCer
that I plan to post this week.

Membership in the list is FREE. All that is required is a willingness to
help a fellow GMCer on the road.

This will be my last update for the next 5 weeks. Friday morning we are
taking off cross country in the GMC. Planned to leave today, but the coach
isn't back together enough to drive. Should be fine by tomorrow - assuming
that I can get the A/C recharged. Plan to stop in Albuquerque for a few
hours to see our son, and then on the Richmond Va and Slippery Rock, Pa.

Actually I do historical recreation (renaissance and medieval). We go to a
small gathering of 10,000 of our "closest" friends. Nice to know that
you're in the area!
