Need a radiator

Anyone have a radiator for sale? Central North Carolina the goal. The Griffin radiators are sold out, and even so I think I would prefer an original.

Radiator shop showed me that my passenger side of core and tank are bulged from a previous engine failure. The tranny cooler was bypassed by someone
else. The oil cooler is contaminated from the current failure (and maybe caused the current failure as they reused it after the first failure). So
not much there to save except the driver side tank. In the midst of an engine rebuild, so hoping to find a usable solution without the premium price
of new.

In light of that failure mode, replacement is very high on the list. The
aluminum radiator is a very high quality product. You might call Jim K
direct and talk to him. He may be able to fix you up with the correctly
fitting radiator. Worth a phone call, for sure.

There is a radiator manufacturer in Michigan that lists on eBay and is specific for GMC motorhomes. I have bought one but not installed yet 'cause my motor os toast. I will post the eBay number when I get home from supper which is on order at the cafe.

I have a radiator Here in Lake wales. Less than 10,000 miles and removed
for purely new engine swap purposes. I also have the running engine that
it was mated to.

Do a search on Ebay using the term "GMC Motor Home aluminum radiator".
There are a number that pop up. I have talked to the first supplier from
MI as he is about 2 hours down the road and I could pick locally and save
the shipping cost.

Buy a new aluminum one. Your new engine and piece of mind will be worth the crazy cost.

Look on ebay, but superior radiator should have them.

They jacked the price up it looks like since i bought mine.

Others have fitted a 454 motorhome aluminum
Radiator. But seems exactly how to do thAt, is still secret. Have not seen it in person or seen photos.

I ended up going to a local radiator shop to have mine re-cored. The fellow has been doing radiators for years (and my radiator was many years old)
so it seemed like a good fit. I knew it was exactly going to fit, well, duh, and the cost was a little less than an aluminum one.

I have a local radiator shop, Mac's Radiator, that I use for my radiator
work. I have them do anything from boil-outs and pressure testing, to total
re-cores. Quality, reasonable prices, quick turnaround. But, ANY TIME I
DEAL WITH AN ENGINE FAILURE, I replace the hoses, and NEVER, NEVER, reuse
the OEM oil cooler. I have installed several of the Aluminum Radiators, and
they are a very high quality product. A small part of the overall cost of a
new engine installation. But, it is your money, spend it how you see fit,
and live with your choices.

Contact Applied, If you have any problem, you want JimK in your corner.

There is other issues with good used that you should think about....
None are less than 40yo and if it was not well maintained you cannot determine the the actual condition of anything internal.
It is about impossible to asses the condition of the internal coolers.

Yes, Superior Radiator does a first class build, and they have bumped the price up a little recently. I picked up mine there last summer. But in my
case this was a short drive to pick it up and it turns out that I had done lots of business with him back in my prototype days.

One of my local GMC friends has had a friend in the business since he was a kid. (The kid friend now runs dad's radiator shop.) His re-core job was
only a little cheaper than my new aluminum radiator. (That was the friends and family price.) So, that is just about a dead heat in the cost
department.

Do yourself a favor right now, this rebuild is an expensive operation. If you have a tally (filled in two spreadsheets - one was measurements also
called a build book and the suppliers, parts numbers and cost), you will get the idea that the increase in cost to go with a new radiator will be
noise only.

In any case, good luck and remember that attention to detail counts.
