OKay, y'all. I am going nuts with curiosity here.

What do the names mean? I'm talking about Palm Beach, Eleganza,
Eleganza II, etc. I notice in Patrick's FAQ that some of the names
had more than one exterior color, and most had a multiplicity of
interior colors. They also seemed to have varying interior layouts.

So, my question is: When I see an ad for a 1974 Eleganza (for
example), what should that tell me about that particular coach??

BTW, I am in the market for a very inexpensive GMC - if such a thing
exists.

The name refers to the interior trim level(or decor). IIRC, Palm Beach
was the top-of-the-line, with the nicest furnishings and the Eleganza
was next. On the other end, the Canyon Lands and Painted Desert models
were the "entry level". All GMC finished coaches have the same
floorplan or a variation thereof(most variations involve differences in
the rear bed area).

It all depends on what you're looking for. With 25+ year old
motorhomes, you need to have a look before you have any idea of what's
there. If you want a "turn-the-key and camp", a well kept Canyon Lands
will be a better choice than a neglected Palm Beach. If you're handy
and looking for something to restore, then original interior trim may be
irrelevant. What you want in that case is a solid foundation to build
upon.

A rare bird indeed. Be very careful, the real cheap ones usually have
much "deferred maintenance" which is a killer.
