Chris,
In my first GMC '77 Birchaven I removed the oven combo and purchased a
cooktop that was an exact replacement for the original I then mounted a
microwave in the space where the oven was ( electric outlet was there for
the Nutone Blender). In my present GMC '77 Palm Beach I removed all the oven
componants but kept the outer box and the top burner parts. I then installed
a Sharp counter top unit where the oven was. Both methods work one costs
less. By the way I had to run electric service on the Palm Beach since
there was no outlet.
