Hi Chuck!
>From your note above I gather you were having trouble getting your
replies to this Mail List.....? Well, as you can see, your reply
worked! Congrads and welcome to this forum.
I've been on several different list serves and really enjoy the
interactions and information I find there. I'm sure you will too.
FYI: The big difference between a "Digest" and a "Deluge/real-time"
List is that the former gathers all messages within a certain length of
time into a grouping (Digest) and sends that to you, and the latter
sends you individual messages one at a time (Deluge)
May I make a suggestion...not just for you but perhaps others on this
list-serve who might benefit .....?
If your browser's mail preferences (ie, under OPTIONS on the menu bar in
Netscape) is set on "automatically quote original message when
replying", then a "reply to" the Digest will quote/copy ALL the messages
sent in that particular grouping into your reply.
To help readers of the Digest find your reply more quickly, and also
save on download time, you could do one of two things:
1) turn off the automatic quote option, and fill in the Subject line
with the appropriate info to identify your reply, or
2) highlight & delete all the verbiage quoted in your reply except a
small portion you find pertinent, so that readers know to which message
your reply refers.
Personnally, I highlight & delete, 'cause I can never remember to what I
am replying unless it's in front of me! (VBG)
I'm having great fun following this Mail List; hope you enjoy it too!
