Mr. Kazi:
Actually, the conversion might be righteous if you can find engine-to-water heater rigs..
I've been exploring the broader considerations around dumping Onan.. Reading up on 12 volt lifestyles (Edison was a DC man) and it all seems to revolve somehow around dumping comfy stuff too.. Which seems to kinda bust the bigger nut for me..
So I've been looking at the 60 pds of LP which would seem to provide some opts for the trailer crowd.. Which in turn would lower potential amp needs at the beach.. which might provide DC juice enough to run 3,800 BTU Air Conditioner.. which be one step closer to a life with an Onan trophy Planter in the garden.. Mankind once put people on the moon for gods sake.. anyway, I digress..
I wonder if we can rig up a heat exchanger (well, ok, a scrap oil cooler or something like that for me) in the fridge chimney with a small DC syphon pump to capture heat from Fridge exhaust?.. I have this monster rectangular chimney head on mine and one of the 'Heat while you drive' tanks and figure that I could cut into that some way.. maybe a simple T-Valve so our elephant would only have to circulate the last liter of coolant in the water-to-water coil back there.. I can't think more than 12 hour cycle to warm up tank for 'camp shower'.. I still get hot shower friday evening from drive out to beach.. and one tank of the warm stuff daily..
The Drive/Heat 'thang works pretty well. I was going to wrap engine-to-heater pipe and this might be a pretty interesting quicky-mod.. I found that the thing didn't seem to work very well unless you ran the engine for at least 45 mins, but this may be scaling and line crap in the tank coil.. No big deal, but ugly work..
Has anyone seen anything like a cheap (used) propane fridge unit and/or cooling core and fixings advertised on the net anywhere?
Can anyone tell me where the hose from the water nipple behind the right rear wheel goes back to? Every time I turn on the pump, I get pool from what I think is probably some sort of pump pressure or priming system.. Found copper nipple behind wheel, but no evident line or hints as to where it might once have gone to..
