"On the passenger side, where there
were pieces of the gasket missing, the
two front bolts were so loose that I just
spun them out with my fingers! The
center bolt was almost as loose, and
the two rear bolts really didn't take much
pressure with the wrench to remove
them, either! That was apparently the
problem. The bolts were so loose that
the gasket was not even "clamped in",
but was just held in place by the bolts
in the gasket through-holes!"
Although one can keep an eye on the
bolts, I was concerned that if if they ever
got loose and a leak develops it would
be difficult to get the parts to seal up
again without removing the manifold.
I bought some heavy duty split lock
washers from Mr. Gasket made for the
exhaust manifold bolts. I am hoping that
if anything ever tries to loosen again
they will help to maintain clamping.
Good luck
