I was. Paramedic/ Driver on Advance Ambulance 5044 posted on this website. I’d like to know if the old girl is still in existence? We were stationed in the Chicagoland area. If anyone knows anything, I can be reached at 630-732-1615. Thanks.

@bdub is the expert when it comes to tracking down individual GMCs. It would help if you had the VIN, but he may know something anyway.

There was an ambulance here in Denver that had been gutted (completely, even the subfloor and cockpit headliner cap) that I would still love to buy if I could find it. I have been told it was purchased by a woman who is not on any of the boards, Facebook, etc., but if anyone has info., I would love to she if she has made any progress on the project, and if not, if she would consider selling the vehicle.

Not sure if there is any relation to the vehicle mentioned by the OP since he mentions Chicago and this one is in Denver, but it is a 23 foot transmode with a rear door where the big windows usually goes.

I think you are referring to this image in my thread

I just collect every image of a GMC off the innerwebs and this is one in my collection

Whereabouts unknown
Nice 23' footer

Here's one a high school classmate sent me. This one served Fairfax City, VA Fire Department until the early 1980's. Whereabouts unknown.
