Hello GMCers,

If any of you out there need windshields, have I got a deal for you.
How does $295 for tinted Vericons sound? They are available for that
price from Duncan Systems, Inc. out of Elkhart, Indiana. They also have
a second outlet at Eugene, Oregon which is where I got mine. To get this
price you have to go and pick them up yourself. I went to Eugene in a
Dodge Caravan and trucked them down here to San Diego, a distance of
exactly 1K miles. If you want them boxed and shipped that runs into
money so it is generally a good value to pick them up yourself but you
have to be careful in transporting them. They are not as fragile though
as some folks would have you believe. Vericon part numbers are as
follows: R/H WO832GT and L/H WO833GT. People at Duncan are great and
they will pack them for you free if you are taking them in a vehicle
yourself. Duncan does not install, only distributes. Shipping and
boxing charges for me would have been $135 each, so this was more than
enough to pay for the gas and take a trip. You can reach Duncan at
Indiana at 1 (800) 551-9149 or at Oregon at 1(888)-689-8662. If you call
Oregon ask for Jenny, she is a great lady and a lot of fun to talk to.
They are well familiar with the GMC Motorhome, now that I have paved
the way for you. Vericon is made in USA and is far superior to Finland
glass and other imports. Many GMC Motorhome dealers are charging $150 to
$200 more per windshield when in fact you can go straight to the
distributor, once again, and cut out the middle man. I say once again
because I also ran the thread on the KYBs a few months ago with another
killer deal. Please let me know if you get any glass and what you
thought of the price and service. I enjoy the feedback. By the way, does
anyone out there know an experienced installer in the So. Ca. region. I
would like to find someone that has experience with windshield
installation with the GMC specifically. You have to be careful because
when you carry in your own glass most shops will not guarantee against
breakage because they are not making anything off you for the glass and
have no means of replacing it.

Regards, Phil Swanson (Also a Ford guy with
a GMC Motorhome)

Arch it is a no brainer for me. Why would I want to risk spending that kind
of money only to have the glass broke by a careless installer? If it breaks
my fantastic bargain just becamea nightmare! It is a one time investment
and needs to be done right. Alex Sirums price is not that bad and his people
know how to put them in. Sometimes it does not pay to cut corners. i think
that this is one time. JMO.
