Hi Jerry-

>HI, Does anyone have an opinion on the Jacobs Ignition? Are their claims of
>10HP gain and 1 MPG gain really true?.

No.

If a defective ignition system is replaced with one working properly, there
may be an improvement, but there will be no difference between a properly
operating OEM system and a Brand "X" type.

I'll give you a clue-

When some miracle product offers a 'Money Back Guarantee" its often another
way of expressing the product in benignly ineffective, and has no effect.
This goes for most aftermarket 'upgrades' or 'oil supplements' etc., as
well as things that are regulated like health food and diet stuff etc.

When the product does exactly what is claimed, they dont need to offer you
your money back ;-) These guarantees are usually the way snake oil formulas
and stuf like that can be sold without the vendors getting in a world of
legal trouble.

Keeps em from being sued.

Remember, extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof. Jacobs ignition
is a perfectly fine system, but its claims of terrific improvement to
performance over the comparably effective stock system you already own are
probably significantly overstated.

Good luck!

Brent

I have one and installed it.. blew out the coil on the unit and they sent me a
new one. My trusty mechanic said, no way, you don't need that. the coil you
have on the hei is sturdy, great, and dont add the jacobs. i still have it
sitting readiy for installation, but have not attempted it again.

Thanks.. never thought of that. Might just remove it and put it there.
Thanks for the advise.
