The Royales, and GM completed coaches seem to have used that same fan. Since we've never traveled in the GM interior coach. Put the new Carrier roof A/C unit in the center opening. Then I'm putting in two Fan Tactic fan roof vents. One at the front, and then the other in at the rear. Wouldn't that negate the need for the bath fan vent. For our 78 Royale with the rear bath. I put in a maxx fan just outside the handicap wheelchair drive in bath. Bob Duahugh

couple things I can point out- original insulation sucks and the windows allow major heat gain into the coaches. So if you are dealing with a stock
coach/stock insulation and stock windows, I am convinced that 2 A/C units are needed. My Coach has a new A/C in mid hole- and it can keep up
pretty well. However, when it is 90+ and super humid, I am very happy I have the 2nd A/C to make the inside comfortable. I hope next year when I get
window film on, the 2nd A/C can stay off.

the fantastic fan up front in mine, is usually a spring/fall item, or when we have no plug in. I do not rely on it at all.

Now the 14"x14" Bathroom fan I installed 2 years ago, I do not see how we lived without it. It has nothing to do with how much air it moves...
The skylight effect it lets into into our side bath makes all the difference in the world. using it to dry off the wet bath, is only a minor bonus.

so with all your other updates you are doing to that 73, I would say installing a 14x14" fan in the bathroom should be on the top of the list.

I have a '73 x-CL with Fantastic Vent forward and aft and a 13.5 Penguin in the center.
As you can see I live in Florida but have no problems with either. The Fantastic Vents have
hoods from the company. While in storage (w/o power) I leave the hooded vents open along with
my stock round bathroom vent open and have no moisture problems. Hooked up to power, I can exhaust
air thru the bathroom and blow air in thru the two vent fans. Works for me.

Bob, to answer your question, yes you could do away with the need for using the bathroom vent fan.
.... but I would still keep the working bath fan in place. Cheaper than taking it out and patching
the roof and bath interior ceiling. Besides, you never know if it would come in handy.

All that : Do get Fantastic Fan's vent hood covers. Installs in 5 minutes and worth every dime,
especially when the coach is in storage.

Bob, Some owners have removed the tiny bath fan and replaced it with standard 14 x 14 fans. The internal structure does allow this. Slope of the roof
is a minor problem. Or, you can add a bigger fan.
Bath fan helps to vent moisture from bath out of the coach.

Yes Rob. I agree that the Maxx fan is a great unit. We put one in our 78 Royale that we travel in now. Got all their bells/whistles they offered on their fan. Cost has never played into what we put in that Royale. And have now got to about $41,000 in parts only in it. Like to put a MAXX Fan in this GMC that I'm putting together. But it comes down to cost on that GMC. And I've already gone overboard on it's cost. We will never use that GMC. I want to sell it before the Fall GMCMI event in Iowa. Bob Dunahugh

I sent links to every Maxx fan available and IIRC one of them was $190 can you get a Fantastic fan for less?

Jim,

Not really:

1) The Maxx fan folds down and is nice looking, the Fantastic fan cover sticks up like a wart on the roof.

2) The Maxx fan with the smoke cover lets in light, I doubt as much light will get through the smoke Fantastic fan factory hood and
a Fantastic fan with a smoke cover.

3) The Fantastic fan with a hood is open on one end, if you have a rain storm with wind that is coming at the open end it will blow
in that end and get in your coach. The inlet to the Maxx fan faces the roof and I reckon it will be damn near impossible to get in
no matter how windy it is.

The stock fan or stock replacement fan moves a lot of air for the size of room. Put your hand down ny the door threshold and feel how much make up air
comes in. As does the cold draft on your feet when showering. Without supplying some additional source of make up air I see no reason to try to
increase exhaust air. When you open the door the RPM on the fan drops (moving more air) showing it is allready restricted with the door shut. The
added light of the skylite is nice though. But I rarely turn on more than one bulb per side on OE lighting.
