Isettas occassionally come up for auction in Australia. Now running at
around US$7,000 and climbing. As are Messerschmidts at around US$10,000.
At an specialist "bubble car" auction in London, two years ago, Isettas,
Messerschmidts, Trogans & Heinkels went under the hammer ... average price
was around US$15,000 !!!
As a kid, I drooled over the Messerschmidt ... oh, if only I'd shelled out
the asking of US$150 for the second hand one my neighbour was selling.
BTW. There is a mob in Yorkshire (UK) selling fibreglass reproductions of
Isettas using a modern motorcycle engine.
And did you know that bubble cars came out due to the introduction of
driving licences in Italy? Great history which I'll tell you about one day.
Yep, not just one bubble car freak on this list !!! LOL
