Is there any alternative to the Wind Wings?

I had Wind Wings for the toll windows on my '78 and loved them. It made a huge difference in air movement inside. My '77 apparently had them at one time, as the drilled holes are in the window frames. I really want a set, but I just can't part with $249 for a set. It's probably $15 in parts. Has anyone tried to make their own version of a wind deflection device? I'm thinking about attempting it in the near future.

your best option may be to come to a rally and foist a set off someone elses coach while they're sleeping.. ;-)

Previous owner had full-height cockpit slider windows installed on mine. Once you do that, no need for wind wings - driven many miles with both cockpit windows partially or completely open without much interior turbulence.

Interesting, but way beyond my budget. I'm bellyaching about $249 lol.

How thick is your plexi? What are the dimensions of it roughly? Thanks!
plexi is about an 1/8".

I curved it using hot air gun in winter, not best option! I hear boiling makes it pretty easy. I just bought a few scrap offcuts from the local plastic store and went with that. Size is about the same height as the sliding window.

The alternative to windwings is air conditioning.

I have ragusa wind wings on my coach. But now with my vintage air dash air conditioning all installed. The toll windows never get opened anymore.

There are people that plum in fresh air vents. Put an air scoop and some valves and hoses and you have better then wind wings. But takes engineering,
Work and time and maybe parts add up to more then wind wings.

I asked Blaine Merrell, who made mine about how he curved his. He said he stuck them in his kitchen stove's oven to soften the plastic he used. I don't know if he still makes them.

I have made the following colors, but others colors could be made.
Solid - Black, White, Light Blue, Dark Blue, Brown
See thru - Clear and Smoked.

I have curved acrylic / plexiglass at work before, it will soften just a little over boiling water temperature. Not in boiling water though :)
