Dave G.;

Any way I can get info on improved air distribution for pre-1977 besides
bugging Paul Loeffler? If it was previously discussed here I missed it, and
expect others may also be interested.

TIA

Dave,
Golby has the upgrade kit available, give them a call (1-800-872-1462).

It is a pretty involved retrofit, the heater box in the front must be out
and on the bench to do the mod. You will need to drop the freon to get it
out.

I would also replace the dryer, expansion valve, thermostat, and clean out
the condenser & evaporator.

All of that will add up to alote of work. Give them a call for kit price
and questions.

Hope this helps,

I wish I could help you but can't. Paul published a sheet a few years ago
that show howed he increased the engine air plenum volume and added
ducting but I haven't done it and don't recall the details.

In paul's coach he installed a air handler and compressor in the aft
passneger's side corner. (He has a stretched coach) and ducted his house
air thru the coach.

I doubt that Paul would be "bothered" by anyone writing him. I don't
think he is on the "Net" but he is one of the most helpful people I know
and is always willing to assist in the aircon area.

He used to work with Mark Finke who has OASI, making fibreglas parts for
GMCs.

Write him.

Jim & Dave:

Shucks! I was hopin' it wasn't to complicated so I could afford for
somebody out here in CA to do the work. Oh well, hot weather - travel nude.
Unless......... I seem to recall somebody taking the "horn" vents off the
dash and found LOTS of cold air. They had experimented with various
cardboard ducting but hadn't fugured out a workable and acceptable looking
alternative to the horns. Does anyone know if whoever that was was able to
figure out better ducting of all this cold air?

I keep hopin' (& I'm even uglier without clothes)

TIA
