My husband has just purchased a GMC motorhome with original interior of plaid
seats and shag carpeting. Does anyone on the list know someone who specializes in
reupholstering and/or recarpeting? Also someone who can make new curtains. Or
can curtains be purchased already made up for these motorhomes? Also, where does
one purchase a shower curtain for the all-in-one shower/toilet. And can pre-made
counter-tops be purchased somewhere? Any information along these lines would be
deeply appreciated.

Peggy,
There is nothing really magic about upholstery and carpet in the GMC. I picked out a
good local shop (separate carpet and upholstery shops) and they did it all and very
nicely. I'm sure you have far more shops in your neck of the woods than we have here
on the Oregon coast. Very nice curtains and blinds sized for your GMC can be
purchased from Guske Sales 1-800-987-5788. Their prices are right and they are very
helpful beside. I'm sure a local cabinet shop could make you any counter top you
want.

Peggy,
We are in the process of restoring our GMC, which we purchased last
Sept., we replaced our headliner, and refinished the inside caps and all
the window trim, one
of our neighbors owns a carpet store, we will get him to help us with
our carpet, and our furniture is in
pretty good shape, so we won't do anything to it, but
for the front windwhield curtain and the blinds, we have ordered new
windshield curtain and day-night blinds from Guske Sales, Ken & Margaret
Guske sell
the windshield curtain and a variety of blinds made
especially for our GMC's, very reasonable too,and made to fit our GMC's.
They are very attractive too. Contact them at
Guske Sales, Phone(810)987-5788. Leave a message and
she will return your call usually within 24 hours or so. She will send
you samples of fabric and colors.
Mini blinds can be purchased at places like Lowe's, Home Depot, Camping
World Etc.
I purchased shower stall shower curtains at WalMart for
our shower, you put one on each side, pull one across in front of the
vanity, and the other one pulls across the door, works great.
If you're interested in joining a GMC club, the
GMC Classics have a lot of wonderful people, many of them from around
Dallas and other parts of Texas, some
from OK and surrounding states. You can contact
Richard Roucloux at Ph#(512)331-4138 for info.
Our next rally is in Eureka Springs, AR (April 15-17).
Please e-mail us at kvfitz or call us at
(405) 769-5763, if we can be of any help.

Ken and Virginia,
Thank you, thank you, thank you! The information you sent is very helpful. I'm glad to
know I can get blinds at Lowe's and that shower curtains from Wal-Mart will fit. If
everything works out, we will be in New York in the GMC on April 15th - 17th but we
would enjoy coming to the next gathering.

Welcome. I did most of the work on redoing my ceiling and floor, but the curtains
came from Guske sales. She has the day/night curtains which work great. She will
send out exactly what you need to fit the coach, and you can pick the colors. She
advertises in the Gmc Magazine, and if you can't find her number, I will try to get
it for you.

I forgot to invite you to Albuquerque New Mexioc for the Balloon fiesta in Oct. The
5th to 10th. It will let you see some neat coaches and see what some of us "nuts" have
done to make them lovely.
