Anybody Know of anything else I should do at this stage?

If the intake has a steel splash guard rivited to it's underside,
carefully remove enough of the rivets so the sheetmetal can be removed,
If you were careful there will be enough rivet material left to
reinstall the sheetmetal guard. I'm not familiar with Olds manifolds,
but if this guard/baffle is in place, it will be packed with fired oil
deposits that won't go away with hot tanking if the baffle is left in
place. All that crud is from oil splashing up from the lifter gallery &
frying from the intense heat of the under side of the crossover passage
in the manifold. You can purchase a real lifter valley baffle from
summit but you will have to cut it to fit. (I prefer to do it this
way.)
