Over the last few weeks there have been several comments similar to: "I
can change to electronics ignition because I have top adjusting points".
I have read other material on the net stating you have to have top
adjusting points to be able to change to electronic ignition.

You can convert to electronic ignition on any of the "Power Drawer" Onans
that came in our GMCs. This included Onans with side adjusting points
that came in the early coaches and the Onans with top adjusting points
in the later coaches; on both the 4000 and 6000 watt generators.

The modifications required to convert either point configurations are
shown on Gene Fisher's web site. You can also view the same information
on the GMCWS web site under Tech Center Number 27. I first presented
this info at the GMCWS rally in Albuquerque last fall. After the seminar
we had a "hands on" demonstration where we installed electronic ignition
on Al Chernoff's GMC. I may repeat this seminar at the GMCWS rally next
fall as there seems to be a lot of interest in this subject. If anyone
has any questions after reviewing this information you can contact me of
net.
