I know it’s not a gmc, but…

So since I bought my cheap gmc, joined this forum, and learned all this stuff from you lovely fellas, it made me think about my 1977 dodge travco that’s been parked in a field for years because apparently the brakes are Unobtanium. Yesterday I braved the cat skeletons, and popped the hood to see what I was working, using my new knowledge. I was shocked to see I have a turbo! Literally had no idea. Never looked deeply into the dog house.
anyway I was wondering if any of you guys have knowledge about these Motors or the travco.

What's wrong with the brakes? Shoes can be sent out for re-lining. Drums can usually be turned. Master cylinders can be swapped for something of similar spec with a little custom work. Wheel cylinders can be honed, seals are pretty universal if you get the right diameter, and if they're really bad they can be sleeved. If a guy wants it bad enough, most brake problems are solvable even if original parts aren't available.

actually I just found out it’s an m600 chassis so it’s probably not the same As the older models with hydrovac I’ll have to read more .

Ah, hydrovac. I've had a couple of those. That would certainly complicate things. Hopefully that's not the case for yours.

If this is the right system, it looks like the hydroboost is actually available, and much cheaper than hydrovac systems I've shopped for in the past. If you have MC issues, you'd probably have to figure out what the original bores were and match something else up.

Thanks I was looking at the second link earlier. It may not be too difficult or expensive. Which means I can dump more money into my 73 gmc interior.

Blg,
I had heard that some of the Travcos were fit with turbos, but with the same problems that all turbo's had prior to really capable ECUs with knock (detonation) sensors.
Last time I looked, there was still a pretty good following of the Travcos. You can probably find some one that can tell you more about the brakes.
Best of luck Guy.

Yea not too reliable I’m sure. Tuning the carb would probably be a nightmare. The forum I joined has the most recent messages being like two years ago. Not like here.
