I just found a website that helped me score a campsite on the waterfront at Gamble Rogers State Park in Flagler Beach, Florida next February! Sites at popular campgrounds typically get booked as soon as they become available, eleven months prior to the arrival date in Gamble Rogers' case. However, there are always a lot of cancellations, so a website called Wandering Labs was developed to monitor these cancellations and notify any interested subscribers based on criteria they've entered (campground, date range, acceptable sites, etc). It took a couple of months to get my reservation -- I actually missed a couple of earlier opportunities by not reacting quickly enough. Wandering Labs is currently able to monitor over 5,000 campgrounds across the United States, and their service works on a freemium, donation-based model. Slick.
