Young lady living in Portland's streets, in a GMC Motorhome. Apparently it doesn't run b/c she's having to have it towed from place to place as they clear various streets of homeless.

I wish I lived in the area, it would be interesting to see what was needed to get it running and driving. Might be something simple!

We go to Portland swap meet every year for the past 12 years or so (minus covid years).
It's at the Portland International Raceway in Northeast Portland. We used to stay in hotels and walk over, we started camping on the raceway because our cars kept getting broken into.
It's very close to Delta Park and Schmeer Road, which are typically very congested with homeless and trash.

We're going next week, we'll see if it's better or worse.

Caption at the 7:45 mark identifies her as a Seattle vehicle resident. That's quite a bit further away. I'm not familiar enough with either city to verify the location based on the streets shown. Hard to say which city they're talking about at a given moment once they chop/edit all their footage.

I live in the area. This is mostly isolated up by the airport and very North ends of Portland. Don't believe the hype, there is equal homelessness in many other cities I have traveled to. It is such a sad state of affairs. My office in downtown Portland has almost no homelessness around it, or any issues. The real problem is how vacant the city is, now.

Haven't been to Portland since I had to hit the deck to avoid gunshots in a Safeway parking lot

If anyone can identify where in Seattle she is currently parked I will help, but her exact location will be difficult to determine.

In the video (7:07-9:45) she mentions her name is Lux, living this way she was kicked out home at age 16 and is currently 19, has moved the GMC 20x using a tow strap.

Seattle is in King County with an estimated 40k homeless. City of Seattle has estimated more than 40% of homeless are living in vehicles. The city is planning a parking area with capacity for 30 RVs.

Hopefully it works out better than Camp Hope in Spokane. That was a circus from inception, very similar to 'CHAZ' in Seattle. Rampant crime, drugs, rape, shootings and maybe a murder. Retail and residential theft in the area went up 400% in the first 6 months.

It isn't a problem that can be solved. A few token moves will help a few, but the homeless numbers will grow faster than any remedies. Sad state of affairs.
