Anyone have any experience with the Elkhart Holding Tanks? The Ardemco GMC-1 tank (30 gal nominal), delivered to my business address in Baltimore is
$550. Elkhart makes a shallow, 29 gallon tank that will fit, but will require I fabricate a 1 1/2 inch offset for the discharge because, at 57", it
is too wide to mount exactly on the coach center-line. The Elkhart tank is $192 delivered to my door. Rick at Ardemco cautioned me about Elkhart
quality, tank thickness, etc. $350 difference is difficult to ignore. I intend to go with a blank tank, then template and install Uniseal tank top
fittings after a dry-fit-up. Also, the Elkhart tank has mounting flanges on the long sides of the tank that would allow me to bolt it up directly
instead of supported across the bottom.
