Mike, Thanks for your reply. Local shop estimated $300-400 labor plus any
parts. Seems reasonable but they have never worked of a GMC before. Where
is Alex? Do you have a phone # for him? Thanks again.

Mike,
Again, thanks a million. Talked with Jeff (Alex's son), he was such a nice
person, explained in detail ramifications regarding removal and installation
of tank. Only wish they were nearer so I could get them to do the job. Now
I know what is involved. Will let you know outcome. Looks like a cold
front moving in for tonight. Must turn on furnace and water heater. Temp
up to 70 yesterday, expected to be in 20's tonight.

Sounds pretty high to me!

I got a quote from Alex on a new holding tank awhile back
It was a little over $200 (like $225 or $230??) as I recall.
I think install was estimated at 2-4 hours???

As it turned out they looked at mine and only had to repair
the "gate" - it cost less than $100 - parts and all.

Can not imagine $400 - $500 in labor, but then again you
couldn't pay me enough to do that job

Seems to me there was a GMC shop somewhere in TN???? Maybe
someone out there can tell you where.

Good luck

Still have sewer holding tank problems after many flushings and feeble
checking. Called new place in Nashville (Camper's Corner), asked for
estimate to remove, repair, and replace tank. Answer, $600 to $700. Is this
this reasonable???Have not called Camping World as yet.

Neely,

Call Alex at 941-763-1121, if he is not there ask for Jeff
(his son). They are in Florida but will ship to you. Might
be able to drop ship - but you will have to ask them if
they can do that.
