I'm adding a Variable Injection Controller to the Rance ported fuel
injection. This will allow setting each individual injector instead of the
bank firing currently used.
What brought this about? When I removed the headers for the installation of
the EGT probes I had some cylinders that were quite sooty compared to the
rest of them.
As I now have accurate EG temps available I should be able to tune for best
individual results rather than some rich just to assure none are too lean.
The question: How much cooler than peak EGT should a 455 cylinder be running
at? or should it run at peak. The only reference I have is dulled by time
. I think I remember correctly that we used to run peak +50 or so when
leaning manually in my flying days.
Thanks in advance
Heinz
