Heater/AC

As I look into the opening of my HVAC from the front of the coach, I can see
a vacuum pod attached to a door. That door has to swing out or in, and it
looks like out. But the pod pulls or pushes. It can't really do that the way
it is mounted. I also don't see any movement on that rod with either the AC
on or it in the vent position. Anyone out there that can explain the
movement of that door and does it help with the airflow if it is open?
Basically, I'm asking how to improve the airflow on a 1975 Avion to increase
cooling. I really don't care about heating as I can take care of that with
the Suburban and I am in California.

Thanks for any insight.

Dean,

If you don't already have this, you need to download it:

This is a little out of date but it is the best upgrade I have done
to my GMC. The parts are still avalable. But the sources have
changed. I will see if I can find the new numbers and sources. If I
do, I will post them...

The A/C system on the GMC is very powerful but the ductwork is very
restrictive. You either need to get more air through the existing
system or add a second evaporator. This change is focused on the
airflow problem...
