Headlamp retainer bracket ?

Hi yall. looking for some info ,my headlamp fell out as the retainer bracket does not seem to hold properly ! see photo showing tab in place but not connected to headlamp bracket.. thinking should i remove bracket and rivet to tabs or do I just do not know how this works ?? Larry,

Unless I do not understand what I am seeing in the picture, that tab that is under the rusty screw is supposed to be attached to the ring that is the headlight bulb retainer. That being the case, the headlight retaining ring is broken. Replacements are only available in most parts stores or on-line for not much money. The replacement have many more mounting ear than the OE. Just pick the ones that line up right and ignore the others. It is a Dorman number.

Mat that is correct it has seperated from the headlamp retainer will look for one on line thanks much for your reply Larry Pearl 78/455 XPB
