As part of my cross-country preparations, I am going to add at least the
following guages: Oil temp, Tranny Fluid temp, final drive temp fluid. Where
have others put the sending units for these gauages? I am not asking where to
mount the guages themselves, but the sensors. The tranny and final drive
sensors I can drill a hole in the pans, is this the way to go? The speed shop
suggested for the oil temp, teeing off the oil pressure sender.

I also plan on adding a tachometer. But that is straight forward.

Any other "must" have guages? engine vacuum? voltmeter? ammeter ( is the
stock alternator over 60 amps?)

Eric,

I think most people running the trans and final drive temp gauges use the
Ragusa RV(www.ragusarv.com) tranny pan and final drive cover, which have
threaded holes for these sensors.
