I have Good Sam and I have noticed their service is continuing to get worse.
Now these videos show that if you use them too much, they will drop you as a customer.

So do not call them for little things, save your 2 calls for when your
really need them.

I've never had Good Sam, nor will due to the horror tales I've heard.

Allstate's RVRoadHelp, on the other hand, has always been great. I've been
towed several times over the past 20 years and had one battery jump call.
While there have been inevitable delays in getting a suitable tow truck,
they've always kept me informed by 'phone of their progress. And after all
those services, which have probably cost them more than our total
membership fees, I've never heard the first word from them after the
incidents -- no "You're out-a-here" letters! And not even a "How'd we do?"
survey.

I'm sticking with RVRoadHelp.

AAA is the same way, if you "use them too much" they can and will drop you.
It is sheer economics, they want you to belong, to be a part of the
membership, but they don't want to carry you more then twice, as that is
the "economic limit" they have set to absorb loss (you using them is
considered a loss) not using them is profit. Businesses want to save money,
too, thus the "use us too much and we drop you." Im not saying its right,
just giving the insurance companies/travel club viewpoint.

I have a belt and suspenders approach to road side service. Counting my wife's AAA, we have 4 plans. It might sound dumb, but I don't want to get
stuck. I consider it cheap insurance at less than $300/year.

I agree with Ken, on Allstate's RVRoadHelp. I've been towed 3 times in 20 years and over 120,000 miles of GMC driving, the last time was this past
spring when the motor stopped on I40 Westbound in Arizona. Since it was getting dark, cold and I was about a foot away from trucks that were zooming
by at over 80, I called RVRoadHelp. I was taken care of for the most part. I did have to call them back when I didn't hear from them in the time
frame I was given. I had to negotiate with them because at first they wanted me to wait until the next day (out of the question since we were in the
middle of no where) and only take me to some service place nearby where "someone would take a look". I balked at that and I asked to be taken to
Albuquerque. They agreed. So in the long run, it all worked out as the driver took me to a Walmart in Albuquerque where I knew I could fix the
problem, rather than "Bubba's RV Repair Place" the RVRoadHelp dispatch center directed him to. The driver said the ~100 mile tow was going to cost
RVRoadHelp $1200, although I don't know if that was bravado or true. Never signed anything or heard from RVRoadHelp. Put me down as a satisfied
customer for a first time user.

As far as Good Sam. I had them once and won't go back. For a variety of reasons, I'm not going to do business with any part of the Marcus Lemonis
empire. That includes Camping World and the Good Sam club.
