Here's My Two Cent For the Tally Recorder:

Several of the netters have previously mentioned that by being on the net we
already have a club. I second their position. It's a club without many
rules, no walls, and encourages the dissemination of technical information
concerning the GMC Motorhome. An object of many passions and cuss words.
There are a few like Archie, Richard Guthart, Jim Bounds, Eugene Fisher,
Patrick Flowers, and many others who make this a community. A community
where individuals are governed by there own rules. I for one, enjoy the
freedom the net provides; to converser freely with my fellow man (woman), to
learn and give knowledge. Having a formal club typically over time imposes
restrictions on it's members or inspires "group thinking." It requires a
charter, formal leadership, elections, set meetings, etc. A club typically
exists for those who desire to control and dominate others. No, give me the
freedom of the GMCnet!

Mark me down as in favor of keeping the GMCnet the simple, educational, and
entertaining document that it is.

As usual, by the time I read through the digest, I find that someone has
usually replied to a question in the much the same way that I would have
done. Such is the case with the discussion about the pros and cons of
making the GMCnet a "chapter." The comments by Mike and Dolores (77 Palm
Beach) in the Friday digest are right on point. The GMCnet is unique in
it's ease of use, and wealth of information. Patrick and the many
contributors deserve the credit for making this list an overwhelming
success. More "organization" and hence more "rules", could not improve the
primary purpose of the GMCnet, and could very well detract from it. As for
the social aspects of a chapter, such as meetings or a rally, this could be
handled like any other "thread" on the GMCnet.

Scott could not have said it better. It's not necessary to become a
formal "Chapter". I think nothing more than a name tag or a button
stating "I'm a GMCNetter" and you screen name is all that's necessary.
We who know will understand and those that do not will ask.
