Tom- I am not sure what the original specs were, but I know mine had
done some turning which it should not have, so was a bit worn and almost
sloppy. The inside of the knuckle was scored as well. This metal is not
very hard. When I redid it several years ago now, I followed Ken's
recomended specs of : Inside of knuckle to be 3.251" with toleration of
+.005 and-.000 Hub was to be 2.002" And bearing is 3.250"

Mine fits pretty tight, and this time I tried to put a little WD 40
rather that grease on the hub thinking it might be easier to get off
next time , but when all was said and done, with grease on your fingers
and all around, grease got onto the hub too. 25000 miles from now i will
have forgotten what i put on likely.
