Jerry-

I am running with 2 Goodyear tires and so far like them. You should
note however that the LT 225/75R16 is almost the exact replacement size
to the original tires. If you go to 215's they are about an inch bigger
and if you go to 235's they are even larger. Some folks like this, for
various reasons, but it should be noted that it raises your gear ratio
even higher than it is already ( not desireable), it changes your
speedometer accuracy (unless you have it changed), and when checking
your ride heights from the ground to the slots in the frame at the back
and the front you will have to use a slightly different value than given
in the book. This of course is very simple as long as you know the
diameter of your non OEM sized tires and you don't forget to do a
recalculation in your mind and on your ruler!! So I guess each to his
own choice, but just be aware of the diameters and the revolutions per
mile for each size of tire. You might want to be sure that when all the
air is out of the bags that a larger tire does not touch on the top of
the wheel well at the back especially in the earlier years of GMC. This
may be a myth but it seems to me that there was a difference in the
early model years.Someone I'm sure has the answer for that.
