............So I have a question, is the GMC really still the best riding=
,
handling etc. available? I find it hard to believe that after all this
time, there isn't a new SOB motorhome in our size range that is
just as good or not better. After all, these things were designed
close to 30 years ago. Look at the improvements in car design
during that period of time..............

While the large intercity bus based motorhomes might have a
good ride, almost all the smaller stuff is based on small truck
suspensions. Dual wheels, leaf springs. At best independant
suspension on the front only. Maybe an air tag or air bag assist
on the front suspension.

My parents have a 1988 Class C motorhome that they bought
almost new and have used a lot over the past decade.

Shortly after I purchased the GMC (it was still in serious need
of steering and suspension work as well as tire balancing), in
order to be near her grandson my mother rode to a reunion with
us in the GMC. She couldn't believe how free of noise it was
inside. No dishes rattling etc.

The next week my father was under has SOB...........mother wasn't
willing to ride in it again until he fixed the suspension.

Turned out there was nothing wrong with the suspension.....
.........it just doesn't ride like a GMC.

I don't know if he will let her ride in the GMC now that the steering, =

suspension and tire problems have been fixed.
