If anyone is unhappy with the loud fan noise the stove vent fan makes, I
recommend reading and trying the two speed control modification that Wes
Caughlan wrote about in the March 1998 issue of GMC Motorhome News.
Following the detailed instructions in the article, I made the
modification this evening in about an hour and half. On the way home
tonight I made one stop at Radio Shack and picked up the parts listed
by Wes for less that $10. The reduced voltage the two 1 ohm resistors
create in the motor circuit significantly slow the fan down to a
reasonable noise level. This was one of the easiest and most satisfying
modifications I've made to my 76 Transmode so far. Now, if I could just
quieten down the blower on the roof top A.C. unit........
