Folks: for those who have inquired.....
The plans for our RV garage came off the internet (Select Builders- plan #
853A-14)
http://store.yahoo.com/hbrnet/42x36rvgarage.html
There are several other sizes of RV garage plans on their list --just click
on "Store Index"
(PS: this is not an indorsement of their product...it's just something that
worked for us!)
Tom made some modifications on this plan, ie, required 16" centers for wall
studs instead of the 24" OC on the plan, and some other smaller things. We
had our home builder take the construction to dry-in stage: roof, windows,
wall sheathing, and a parking pad. Tom purchased and installed the roll-up
doors himself since that saves paying the builder a mark-up on the doors
too. The center door is 12x12 (~$500); the smaller doors are 9x10 (~$140
each). And we will install the Hardiplank siding ourselves.
Dry-in, plus the doors has cost ~ $26K. Felting, interior elec., and siding
will likely put us at about $30K, if we do the work ourselves. But then,
hey...we're retired...we're supposed to have nothing left to do anyway!
