GMC Rotors & Drums

[the hamiltons]

The front rotors are the same as used on Tornadoes and some others of the
period with four holes drilled for the motorhome and five for the Toronado.
I have always believed and never heard otherwise that the drums are unique
to the motorhome - with 2" shoes but wide enough for 2 3/4" shoes???????
I've never been able to find out why the wider drum though.

Al, My coach has 2 3/4 in shoes installed by P.O. The backing plate
and some brake hardware differ from stock, the drums are identical. The
brake shoes I buy to fit this setup are for 1976 GMC G3500--1 ton van
292 CI/4.BL L6 They seem to work O>K>
