In regards to Headers vs. OEM or new maifold. Personal preference will
prevail. I use Thornley Headers with in and out Ceramic coatings and the
extremel thick and extremely expensive Copper Exhaust Gasket one piece.
This acts as a heat sink too! Honest, after you have run the engine for a
while. My co-pilot, German Shepherd "Sheba" that crossed the Rainbow Bridge
on Good Friday wouldn't sit on the engine hatch compartment cover. But with
the new exhaust system. Opening the cover and within five to 7 minutes you
can touch the headers and not get burned. Yes, they are warm but not to
cook you or fry a hot dog or egg etc. Chuck in Lompoc.

Before you get upset with your Electronic Ignition installation in your
Onan, be sure that you are getting DC power to the coil while holding the
start button. Place a DC volt meter between terminals 9 & 1 for
indication of DC power available (10 to 12 volts DC). You should also
hear the fuel pump running at the same time.
If in doubt, place jumper wire between terminals 9 & 5 to bypass the
control board (all except the 5 amp fuse). You should hear the pump run
as soon as you attach the jumper. Must have a good fuse installed for
operation & protection of overloads.
