Fellow list' rs:

All these hub cap questions on the list, so I'll add my question... But
first, a short story --

I was trying to describe the GMC to a business acquaintance (from Grand
Rapids, MI) and I saw the light go on that he knew what I was talking about
when he said "You mean its one of those nice looking ones, but has the
wobbly looking wheels?" Bingo!

Our hub caps are bolted on with an allen head fastener that goes into a
strap fastened under two lug bolts. And amazingly, we still lost a wheel
cover a year ago (because the fastener was loose) in the UP. End of story,
now my question.

I read an article in one of the magazines about someone who kept their steel
wheels, painted them to match the coach, used trim (or beauty rings) and a
smaller hub cap.

I would think a cap as was used on a 69-72 or 73-77 GMC pickup would be
about right, but I'm not clear what would hold it on the wheel. I have a set
of trim rings, I have matching paint, now its just that center thing.

I wouldn't want to be arrested for indecent exposure. 8-)

Has anyone had any experience with this type of setup, or can you direct me
to someone who has?

Mark

Mark,
I was on the phone yesterday to cinnabar and they were telling me how to
tell
if my 74 had the brake recall done on it. Anyway...They told me there was a
small hubcap on the centershaft ( I could be wrong on the term they used )
but it sounds like thats what your looking for. Give them a call at

See Ya,
Rob
