We must be hotter than you are...!
Albertsons Grocery store chain in Houston is heavily marketing "one-stop shopping" - groceries,
banking, etc....and gasoline.
Made the local news today with the opening of their new pumps and unleaded at 83 cpg....!
Randalls Grocery will not be far behind in that move.
Sam's Wholesale (Walmart) nearby is also constructing a large (really large!) pump island on
their site. Will likely purchase incremental gallons from the smaller teapot refineries on the
Gulf Coast and price average to sell cheap!
The majors, Exxon, Shell, Mobil, Phillips, now mostly at 1.18-1.20; Citco, Conoco,
UltraDiamond, Coastal, can still be found in the 1.10 - 1.11 range.
My parents in San Francisco complain mightily about gouging by the oil companies. I remind
them that their state requires the most stringent gas formula in the US...with the resultant
higher price at the pump. Clean air is not cheap.
Then they remind me that not only is their air cleaner, but it's a lot cooler too! And that
ends the conversation...! ^_^
