Emery, I agree with you on your "home method" of checking the front end
toe using the scribe mark on the front tires. What I found to work
better than a tape measure it to clamp a carpenter square on each end of
an 8' 2x4 with the vertical legs set just a littler wider than the
distance between tire centers. You can slide the 2x4 under the coach and
stand the squares up with one side on the tire scribe at the center of
the tire height. All you need to do is take a measurement between the
other tire center at the same height on the square leg. The difference
between the reading at the front and the back of the tire will give the
total toe in or toe out. One person can do it this way without having
someone holdintg the other end of the tape.

I have not been on the GMC net digest very long and I don't have a lot of
time to look at all the post, however, I would like to complement you on
a lot of very intelligent answers to various questions. You will make a
great candidate for my replacement as Tech V. P. for GMCWS next year. I
look forward to meeting you and working with you on the change over. I
can assure you your new job starting next fall will take up a lot of your
time but it sounds like you are the type of person that will enjoy it.
