It seems many have problems with cooling, and while we are usually not
traveling in as hot weather as some do in the south, my experience is as
follows:

I have the original radiator with 14 fins per inch as it is supposed to
have. I have never, since first changing the fluid, totally changed it
again,-only adding as needed. However I keep the antifreeze totally
clean by removing about once per year the overflow canister and washing
it out . Also if I have the fluid out for any other reason I filter it
when I put it back in again. I add a rad. conditioner every so often to
keep the waterpump lubricated and keep the fluid neutral.

I have A Robertshaw Thermostat, I think it is a 190 F.

I replaced the fan clutch with a new OEM heavy duty one from Cinnabar
about 40,000 miles ago, after the original one quit, and never have had
a problem since.Luckily I wasn't too far from Wes's place and went to
see him.

When My waterpump began getting a wet spot at the bearing , I replaced
it with one with the same size original vanes.

So-- temps. seem to stay steddy---most of the time in the spring they
stay well below 190 and if pulling a heavy hill they get to 190 or a bit
above. But as soon as they climb above, when the fan cuts in, they come
down pretty quickly. Maybe I'm lucky,I don't know, however when my fan
quits I'll likely put in another OEM one.One other thing- when I did my
timeing chain- I was perhaps superstitious- but kept it vertical rather
than laying it down.-some feel it has some affect on the oil in it.

Soooo-- all I can say, it all works great with no breakdown or
overheating.

Claude.
