Someone was not happy with their experience of having the oil separate
in their grease gun and come dripping out onto them and the floor. A
long time ago I had the same experience with regular grease ( no idea
which brand) and presumed that if one is not using the gun for a long
time that the pressure of the spring against the grease caused
separation of the components, so if I'm not going to use the gun for
some time I now pull the handle back and lock it and as well cover the
exposed rod part with some paper or a rag so it doesn't get dust and
dirt on it and then carry that down into the gun when it is used again.
Perhaps some brands don't do this ,I don't know, but at least some do
in non synthetic grease.
