Jim
My shift lever actually hit my dash donut before I moved it. What are
you
referring to? The shift lever goes down with the steering column which
put
my shift lever out of the sky.
Thanks Jim
It does need to be, lowered
Mine also hits there I was figuring a inch and half it would hit right
under,
I had figured on changing out the column as it does have some problems,
considered going to a left shift using a floor shift , making a little
larger counsel on the left.

Thanks again Gary

I had asked a question awhile back in regards to the shift lever and never
got an answer so while we are discussing levers I need an answer.
When shifting our lever almost hits the steering wheel maybe only 1/2 in.
clearance or less. At times you get the feeling that the lever is going to
hit the wheel before disengaging to change gears. Is this normal. Or is
there some kind of adjustment?

Make sure the "pin" that the lever swivels on is in all the way.
Mine 'creeps' and it doesn't take much creeping to make for excesive shift
lever travel.
One of these days I'll locktite it.

Yes our PIN also creeps out. Almost had the lever laying in hand one day as
bottom of pin came out bottom of hole. Not a nice feeling, and I panic
easily.
