Gastank Refurbishing

For those of you who might have concerns about your ageing gastanks, I have
a suggestion. I have just had both of my tanks refurbished with a process
called 'Gastank Renu' by a fellow in Battle Creek Mich. He completely shot
blasts the inside and out then uses a special baked on ceramic coating on
the inside and out to restore the tank to 'better than new' condition. It
has a limited lifetime warrenty. He charges $200 per tank (without shipping)
for this process. He has the large ovens required for our 53in wide tanks
(not all of the Renu people do).

The only gotcha is that our tanks are too large (by 2 inches) to ship UPS!
I used Yellow freight with my tanks strapped to a pallet.

Thom:

Could you have found a closer franchise by checking:
http://www.gastankrenu.com/welcome.htm

Any reason you chose the BC location?

It's about 10 minutes from my office and I just had them do a son's FIAT
gas tank last week, $143.00.

How many holes did they have to cut open to work on the interior of your
tank?

The Battle Creek location was the closest with the Large Ovens that are
required for the GMC tanks. They only had to deal with a single interior
baffle. And, frankly, I can't see where they put the access holes!
